Fiction Authorship

Why Write?

Lincoln was defeated for State Legislature, failed in business, was beaten for Speaker in Illinois, lost a nomination for Congress, and lost a run for the U.S. Senate.  Then he was elected President.

By that measure, clearly my youth has prepared me to be Galactic Overlord.  I spent time as a factory worker, programmer, manager, law student, web designer, and even drove for Uber.

The one thing that was consistent throughout was my writing.  It started off as being a fiction author for some  video games for my friends.  Then I decided to author urban fantasy to entertain family.  Soon it was writing complex interwoven stories to entertain a wide social network.

After many years of writing for fun, I finally decided in 2016 to try to take my fiction to the next level.  I started by writing a short story for the National Mensa Bulletin to enter their annual fiction contest.  I was exhilarated when it was accepted for their January 2017 issue.

After that, I was hooked.  I began writing at a frenetic pace, pulling together years of related short stories and beginning to give them a sense of continuity.  Now, after almost a year of effort, I am beginning the challenging endeavor of finding an avenue to be heard among the myriad voices of other burgeoning authors.
